Frequently Asked Question

The earlier, the better! Tanzania Bush Safaris typically begin at 6:00 a.m., thus we strongly advise our customers to depart from their hotel or lodge as early as possible. This is because earlier departures result in greater success throughout the safari. After all, many animals are active in the morning, so you may encounter a large number of them. You will also have more flexibility on the game drive because you will not be surrounded by other tourists. Tanzania’s national parks are open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; so, leaving as early as possible increases your chances of success on your game drives.

We provide top-of-the-line 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles ideal for bush excursions. Compact refrigerators for cold drinks and first-aid kits are available inside vehicles to provide additional comfort during the safari. Pop-up roofs are available, allowing you to stand, observe, and take the most amazing images during game drives.

The safari guide/driver will be the only person in the car with you during the safari. However, if you choose a joint safari, you will be with other clients (tourists) whom you have not met before the safari, which means that the safari cost will be divided among all Tourists in that particular vehicle.

Getting out of the car during a game drive is strictly prohibited per Tanzania National Parks regulations. This is only for the visitor’s safety and conservation considerations. You may only exit your vehicle during picnic lunches in specifically designated sites within National Parks.

The length of many Tanzania safaris is entirely up to the client. You might choose to go on a game drive to one of the nearby destinations for 4 to 7 days, or you can go on a longer tour that includes multiple destinations and may take more than 10 days. However, we can always tailor the tour duration to your specific needs.

Casual clothing is permitted on the safari. Loose-fitting and lightweight clothing are recommended to keep you cool. Also, if you get trapped in a rainstorm, such clothes dry faster. Carry a warm jacket with you for cool mornings on game drives. You can wear long sleeves at night because there will be a campfire to keep you warm, but you must protect yourself from insects.

Bringing children on safari is a great decision; we can assure you that it is extremely safe to do so, as it inspires them for future reference. Seeing wildlife in its natural habitat is an experience that they will have with them forever.

Yes, our safari guests are served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our safari packages are often sold on a full-board basis, which means that all meals are included. Breakfast is typically served at the lodge/hotel before departing for wildlife drives. Depending on your itinerary, lunch is available in the form of lunch boxes or hot lunches. Lunch boxes are taken to designated picnic places throughout the park, while hot lunch is normally consumed at the hotel. The lodge/hotel serves dinner. Water and soft drinks are always accessible in the car’s modest fridge, as are tea and coffee upon request.

The usage of local planes from one place to another will increase the cost of your safari package, but it will allow you to spend more time on game drives and add new experiences to your Tanzania safari.

Yes, all of our hotels and lodges have Wi-Fi. This service is provided for free so that you can explore and socialize after the trip. Tanzania has three international airports, depending on your itinerary: the Abeid Karume International Airport in Zanzibar, the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, and the Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha/Kilimanjaro.

That being stated, you should choose one of these airports according to how well it fits your safari plan.

Tanzania has two distinct seasons throughout the year: wet and dry. Regardless, seasonal temperature fluctuations should be expected when on a Tanzania safari due to Tanzania’s proximity to the equator. Even though many places receive warm weather, temperatures can decrease dramatically during and after rainy seasons, especially at night, however, Tanzania’s coastal regions experience hot and humid conditions all year.

No, a tour organization is required when trekking Mt Kilimanjaro because the minimum number of days to hike Mt Kilimanjaro is five. You will require food, drink, and someone to assist you and carry some of your needs (items/materials) throughout this period. A tour company provides all of these services. Because the rule was developed to oversee this activity, TANAPA only works with Tanzania-registered tour companies when making climbing arrangements, rather than natural individuals.

Mount Kilimanjaro can be climbed all year; however, many people choose June to December because severe rain is unusual during this time.
